Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.

1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)

God will come and save you from your troubles!

We feel anxiety because we know that the world is not right. We are meant to be with God. He will come and save us! Remind yourself (and others) in moments of anxiety, that “He will come and save you”!

“Say to those who have an anxious heart, ‘Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.’ ”

Isaiah 35:4

How can I help my friend who has anxiety?

The Bible says that anxiety weighs a man down… he feels heavy, tired, and weary from the worries of life. Maybe your friend is going through a tough time in their life. How can you help them? The Bible says a kind word will cheer them up. Compliment them! Pray for them! Reach out to them and let them know they are not alone. When you pray for them, consider sending them a message or a note in the mail!

“An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.”

What does Jesus say about anxiety?

When Jesus preached His most famous sermon, The Sermon On the Mount, He actually spoke about anxiety! This phrase is a favorite of my grandmother’s… and I didn’t even know it was in the Bible until I was an adult!

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:34

Jesus knows that anxiety makes us tired and weary. Jesus wants us to trade our worries for His love.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

Jesus says that anxiety will not improve your life.

“And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?”

Matthew 6:27

Jesus asks us to think big instead of worrying about our troubles. Jesus wants us to think about the Kingdom of God and eternal things!

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?”

Matthew 6:25

Jesus asks us to trust Him even in our anxiety; to know and thrive in the peace that He gives us!

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

John 14:27

Does Anxiety separate you from God?

No! St. Paul writes in Romans that nothing can separate us from God’s love, not even our fears for today or our worries about tomorrow! Not even Satan himself! God is all-powerful (omnipotent) and has us safely in the palm of His hand!

“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”

Romans 8:38-39

Not only that, but God listens to us when we are crying for help! He longs to hear from you about every single thing you are anxious about.

“When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.”

Psalm 34:17

Bible Verses about anxiety:

How do I give my anxiety to God?

You can give your anxiety to God by applying the words of Philippians 4:6. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. It’s important to thank Him for what He’s done because experts agree that gratitude opens us up to fixed relationships and even can help treat anxiety.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”

Philippians 4:6

Remember that it is God alone that you should fear! He is a holy and just Creator!

“So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’ ”

Hebrews 13:6

God understands your burden, and asks that you cast it on Him! He will sustain you through it all.

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.”

Psalm 55:22

Bible verses about anxiety:
God has good plans for you! Trust Him!

Just as God had amazing plans for Israel (spoken here through the prophet Jeremiah), He has amazing plans for you, too! God does His work, and it’s hard for us to understand it… but know that through your wilderness moments, God has a plan for you for an amazing future!

“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

Jeremiah 29:11

Can reading the Bible help with anxiety?

Yes! The Bible is inspired by God and when we read it regularly, it helps us find out what parts of our lives are imbalanced, and it even corrects us!

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”

St Paul wrote to the Church in Thessalonica that he wished they would have peace at all times in every way. That seems like a wonderful blessing from him to a church that he cared deeply about, and that is the blessing that I will leave you with.

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.”
