6 Bible Promises for Moms
God has a plan and a purpose for you. He established a plan for you before you were born. His promises are complete in Christ and fulfilled daily in your walk with the Holy Spirit. If you're feeling distant from God today, take a moment to read a few of the promises from the Bible for moms.
1. God always cares about the things you care about.
"Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you."1 Peter 5:7 NLT
It's not a cliche, it's true - Jesus is our Friend, Advocate, and Brother. He bore our sins and now asks us to take on His yoke, which is light, productive, and beautiful. Our obedience to Jesus is our “spiritual worship” (Romans 12:1).Even committed Christians can occasionally get distracted and discouraged and try to pick up their sins, worries, and anxiety. When you catch yourself getting out of step with the Holy Spirit, take a moment to pray and ask God to yet again exchange your yoke of pain, discouragement, and depression for His yoke of humility and joy.One of the Bible Promises for moms: Jesus is your friend and cares about your daily choices, worries, and joys. This reminds me of one of my favorite hymns:"What a Friend we have in Jesus All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege it is to carry Everything to God in prayer"
2. God loves you. Even more than you love your own children.
John 3:16 is a well-known passage; maybe even the most well-known passage in all the Bible. It summarizes the Gospel well and emphasizes our eternal responsibility in God's plan - belief. But we tend to gloss over two important words: "so loved".For God SO LOVED the world. The love that you feel for your children, when you feel like the cuteness might just cause your blood to boil up and explode, expressed only with good ol' fashioned 'cute aggression'. When those moments happen, I occasionally think "I SO LOVE you", and am reminded of that passage. While those moments of intense love are occasional for me, they are a constant for our Heavenly Father.Bask in that love by growing into a closer relationship with the Father. (James 4:8)Bible Promises for moms: He loves you with a pure, sacrificial, life-changing love."For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 3. The way you raise your children will forever impact them - raising them in a faith-filled household will result in faith.Proverbs 22:6 is a verse that comes with a promise and a warning, two opposite sides of the same coin. As parents, we have a solemn responsibility to teach our children what matters. This does NOT mean forcing meaningless religion on our children, but rather demonstrating a real faith, a Christ-centered life. When we make mistakes as parents, we need to be honest with our children and explain that a Christian makes mistakes and gets back in step with the Holy Spirit with humility. To re-center in Christ and let them see that journey. This humility balanced with parental leadership is important - perhaps the most important mission in raising our children for Christ.
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
To teach our children this all-encompassing faith, check out this article based on Deuteronomy 6:6-7.
“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”Deuteronomy 6:6-7
Does that seem overwhelming? Don't worry, God gives us everything we need for life and godliness. (2 Peter 1:3) Ask Him for help. See also: 12 Things the Holy Spirit Does For YouAnother of the Bible promises for moms: the truths you give your children will never leave them.
4. God will be patient with you.
"The Lord isn’t really being slow about His promise, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent."2 Peter 3:9 ESV
God is patient. In both the salvation and sanctification process, He is patient, kind, and gives multiple chances. He calls you patiently and calmly, whispering to your heart about the joy and plans He has for you. He allows you to see His goodness. Through His gift of the Holy Spirit, He will transform you into a reflection of Jesus by filling you with His abundant love. He knows the wounds the world has caused because He experienced the temptations and pains of rejection. (Hebrews 4:12)And through it all, He is patient with you.Regarding salvation: The book of Revelation states that those who never accept the Gospel were given the chance but chose rebellion. 5. God will give you rest.
Trying to do it all yourself will always result in weariness, pain, burden, and unmet expectations. You can't do it yourself.Exchange your goals for God's goals. Let Him determine your patterns of work, rest, and parenthood. Let Him show you the way.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."Matthew 11:28 NIV

"Indeed, He who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps."Psalm 121:4
God's promise for moms: He won't sleep on the job. He is powerful and watchful over His children. In fact, that brings me to yet another of the Bible promises for moms:
6. God will give you sleep.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that adults sleep for seven or more hours per night. Our bodies and brains need a chance to physically reset, and the lack of sleep will actually kill your body. This is a characteristic that we do NOT share with God. He does not sleep.I've found that when I'm in my spiritually dry seasons, I tend to also be fighting sleep. When I am at peace with God, it's easier for me to fall asleep and stay asleep. It's official - sleep is theologically necessary, and a sign of God's faithfulness and power.
"It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for He gives to His beloved sleep."Psalm 127:2 Berean Study Bible
